Senior Medical Advisor

    Roles & Responsibilities: 

    • Build along with medical head and in alignment with global and commercial vision the Cardio vascular Medical strategy
    • Regular high-quality scientific medical communication to external stakeholders according to local medical strategy, including medical information upon customer requests
    • OL engagement: Build up and maintain a network of health care providers (HCPs) and other relevant external stakeholders, establishing sustainable relationships, with emphasis on global, national and regional OLs in the field of cardiovascular disease, ensure involvement of OLs in impactful engagements leading to improvements of patient care with Novo Nordisk products
    • Strong focus on development, planning and early execution of pre-launch activities to optimally prepare for new product launches in alignment with the local strategy
    • Medical education: Develop, plan and organize innovative educational activities, including own scientific presentations as well as speaker selection and briefing when needed. Facilitate participation of customers to external and internal national and international scientific events and training activities
    • Digitalisation: develop, refine and expedite usage of virtual tools and innovative formats for interactions and communication with customers and medical education
    • Initiate and realise local scientific publications as needed
    • Medical Guidance: Continuous self-study of relevant literature. Participate in internal training and educational events, attend national and international congresses. Deliver medical training of colleagues within Medical but also within the MCE and commercial units.
    • Collaboration (e.g. common projects/data generation, information sharing, working groups) with medical functions in the BA, Regional Office and Global
    • Proactive and close cross-functional local collaboration and information sharing within the Business Units (mainly Obesity and Diabetes), other local medical functions, Market Access, Governmental Affairs and Clinical Operations and contribution to the development and execution of local business strategies
    • Clinical activities: Managing local investigator sponsored studies (ISS), phase IV/non-interventional and RWE studies in collaboration with other colleagues; cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Team & CMM (clinical Medical Manager) (incl. medical training, site selection, investigator meetings etc.)
    • Contribution to development and medical approval of promotional and communication materials
    • Execution of administrative tasks (e.g. documentation of visits/interaction with/requests from customers in databases, proofreading, activity and budget planning, compliance tasks in collaboration with other functions)
    • Deliver medical training (incl. data bases) to new or promoted employees as needed
  • University degree in Science, Pharmacy or Medicine
  • Academic background or experience in cardiology, cardiometabolic or internal medicine would be strongly required
  • Fluent in written and spoken English together with the willingness to travel locally and internationally
  • Min. 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in cardiovascular related areas
  • Profound knowledge in the fields of cardiovascular or cardiometabolic diseases
  • Strong (cross-functional) team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment
  • Strong ability to work independently on scientific topics, project management skills
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking with customer- and patient-centric attitude
  • Good understanding of available digital technologies and interest in development of technologies, platforms and ways of interacting in multichannel working environments (Especially IT proficiency in Microsoft, data bases etc.)
