Job Overview:
As the Retail Manager of Swatch, you'll drive sales and business growth by implementing retail excellence training, executing strategic action plans, and monitoring market trends. Leading a dedicated team, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, optimize the store network, and ensure a strong local brand image. With over 10 years of experience in sales and brand management, proficiency in English, and expertise in the retail sector, you'll play a key role in Swatch's continued success.
Key Accountabilities
Business Management & Development
- Monitor sales performance versus the budget/targets and take necessary actions accordingly
- Application in all stores of the retail excellence training, based on KPI
- Develop and implement commercial action plans for business growh, as targeting clientele categories (local/tourists), incentive programs, slow movers etc.
- Monitor local trading environment and trends, including competition, tourism, consumer trends
- Work closely with the Finance Department to provide inputs related to sales forecast, headcount requirements, financial requirements, etc., for budgeting and investment planning purposes
- Do negotiation to secure more attractive location with retailer in department store and shopping mall
- Develop the brand's business in Korea by identifying potential locations for new stores and provide analysis of potential markets/profitability
Team Management
- Communicate vision, strategy and clear directions to retail staff
- Structure the organization of retail activity and allocate responsibilities
- Work closely with HR Department to ensure adequate staffing through recruitment, rotation, mobility, training and development
- Motivate, drive, inform and actively coordinate retail teams
- Monitor sales team performance
- Work closely with the Mystery Shopping and Training outsourcing firm to ensure proper training of sales staff and excellent customer service
Store Network
- Propose layout adjustments as needed to ensure commercial efficiency
- Assist to manage existing store network projects: expansion, renovation, relocation, closure, etc.
- Participate in lease negotiations with landlords, including flagship store
- Regular update on store layout of each department store
Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the stores and solve unresolved operational issues
- Uphold excellent standards and consistency of customer service
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations
- Provide necessary resources and support to stores
- Control costs for optimum effectiveness of operations
- Plan and take necessary steps to have optimum stock levels and minimize inventory discrepancies
- Implement and support all security measures
- Investigate and report on any occurrence outside normal events
- Work closely with the Merchandising Department to ensure that the highest standard of merchandising are maintained at all times
- Keep senior management informed of issues, decisions and procedures change at store level that impact business significantly
- Actively contribute to the efficient coordination of Marketing, Merchandising and Retail
Local Brand Image
- Actively promote the brand in the local market
- Propose and effectively implement local marketing, customer relation strategies to promote the brand's image
- Nurture relationship with business community and competition
- Work closely with the Marketing & Communication Department to provide input and implement local marketing projects
- Keep abreast of counterfeits activities in the market and provide regular feedback
Qualifications
- Bachelor¡¯s degree or its equivalent
- Preferred backgrounds in Retail, Duty-Free, FMCG, and Luxury industries
- Over 10 years of experience in sales, brand operations, and management
- Demonstrated experience in people management both internally and externally
- Expertise in the retail sector
- Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with retail Customer Relationship Management systems and Point of Sale systems
