Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and configure ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, vSAN and virtual machines (VMs) including advanced networking and storage solutions.
- Configure and manage high availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and vMotion for optimal workload distribution.
- Execute major ESXi host upgrades, firmware updates, and patch management in production environments.
- Perform deep dive troubleshooting for ESXi performance bottlenecks, log analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Monitor system performance (CPU, Memory, Disk), optimize resources, and resolve server hardware/software issues.
- Manage VM snapshots, templates, backups, and disaster recovery tasks.
- Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019/2025 Server support and troubleshooting.
- Assessing existing infrastructure, ensuring data integrity with backups, configuring network connectivity, managing downtime, and validating functionality in the target environment.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, managing firewall rules, and handling anti-virus updates.
- Develop PowerShell or Python scripts to automate routine maintenance and provisioning tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Typically, 6-10+ years of experience in system administration.
- Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA/MCSE) are preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), vSphere/ESXi, networking protocols, and storage concepts (SAN/NAS).
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
- Tools: Knowledge of SCCM, Ansible, vMotion, and DR tools (SRM).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, documentation skills, and the ability to work in team-oriented environments.
